Improving your high-throughput confocal microscopy
In the age of big data, high throughput confocal imaging is more important than ever before. To address this topic, we partnered with Science/AAAS to produce a poster that details key factors to consider when maximizing the throughput of a confocal instrument for quantitative imaging applications. Also included is information concerning the Nikon AX / AX R point-scanning confocal microscopes and Yokogawa CSU-W1 spinning disk confocal microscopes, including light path diagrams. Discussion covers the following factors:
- Field of view (FOV), including the benefits of imaging with a large 25 mm FOV
- Pixel density, image resolution, and satisfying the Nyquist sampling criterion
- Detector sensitivity, noise, and improving signal-to-noise with denoising and deconvolution
- Scan speed, including discussion concerning resonant scanning.
